Are you a dog owner and planning on taking your pet on a drive? If you’re running late, packing for a holiday or just plain busy, it can be hard to remember what exactly you need to pack for your dog for your next trip. If you’re going on a road trip that includes a water adventure at the end, don’t forget to pack a pet life jacket.
This handy infographic provided by Car Next Door has a great checklist, with all the key items you should be packing for your pooch!
The infographic is fairly self-explanatory, but here are the most important parts.
Dog harness or car seat: You wear a seat belt for safety, why wouldn’t you do the same for your pet? Ensuring your dog is safely restrained means in the event of an accident, your pet won’t get thrown around and injured.
Extra water and a bowl: Your dog’s health is your responsibility, and if you have the heating or AC on in the car, the dryness in the air will dehydrate your dog more quickly.
Old Towels or Blanket: Your dog may get carsick or you may not be planning to let your dog get wet, but if they do it’s going to be much easier for you to throw a towel in the wash than clean your whole car.
